i dont know why but anytime i try to add a server (dod-s, cs-s) it just fails and doesnt work. I try to add an ip to favourties and just join the server from there, but for some reason it always fails and never shows up, but when i just add a previous sever i've played at it works. What am i doing wrong i really wanna try our avalanch server. Also if we're scrimming and i'm in this takes me out of the game if i cant add the server, if anyone can help me through this i'd appreciate it.

Thanks for the help;

[R|L] Mav (James)

I assume you're trying to add a server to favorites in DoD itself? I wouldn't have a clue, in DoD:S you can just go to a tab called favorites and add the server manually by IP there. If you're talking about Xfire, make sure you've selected the correct game for the IP.
Also, there's a kind of tutorial on that here

It looks like he ment dod:s, and I've known that sometimes adding any server to favorites has a knack for failing. No idea why, but it does.

yeah the way i do it was the exact way u explained it ultima, i try to add it on dod:s i do use xfire but i never trying adding a server through there. Also cake was right on, yeah source does have a nack for failing at a lot of things and its a pain in the ass to get it to work thnx for the feed back tho i'm gonna have to find some way to get around it. prob just add some1 to friends on xfire and just click join game and add to favourties after i play in the server thats the only way adding a sever seems to work for me when it comes to source.

Lol, ultima, this clan is in serious need of that. <3

Also Mav, try exiting DoD:S with your favorites tab open (once you add a server).

In the past (tfc, dod) I've always had to do that. It was the only way I could keep my list of favorites to save.

Otherwise, my game would go,"Favorites? You mean these servers that you like a lot and would like to play on next time? Save them? OH, HELLZ NAW!"...annd delete. XD

Check your cfg file. it may be set to read only. if it is indeed then what you need to do is, de-select read only and save then try from there.
